Dear friends, supporters, staff members, advocates, and visitors,
Throughout the past 30 years, I have proudly served the Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Paterson. During this time, the people who have benefited from our care have made an immeasurable impact on my life. In March of 2018, I was appointed by Bishop Serratelli, Monsignor Tillyer and our devoted Board of Trustees as the Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson. I am truly proud and humbled by this opportunity. I look forward to serving the Diocese and those who are in need.
We are starting to look at Catholic Charities, here in the Diocese of Paterson, with new and bright eyes; not as three separate agencies but as ONE Catholic Charities organization providing a multitude of services and programs in our Diocese and Church. We must collectively work together with our communities and our Parishes to further our good efforts of serving the poor.
They said, "Come, let us build for ourselves a city and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth."
Well, let’s make “ourselves a name,” Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Paterson! I plan to better unify the Department for Persons with Disabilities, Straight and Narrow and Catholic Family and Community Services while keeping their identities and rich histories of providing service.
When we say Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson, is “the best”, I believe it is because of the love and the sense of “family” that permeates everything that we do. We have the most dedicated and caring staff and they promote and live the principles of Catholic Social Teaching each and every day.
To learn more about the Department for Persons with Disabilities, Straight and Narrow and Catholic Family and Community Services and the wonderful work that we do, I invite you to look at all of the information on this website, visit and follow us on social media, or contact me to schedule a personal visit to any of our programs.
Thank you for visiting our website and please consider making a donation to Catholic Charities so that we can continue to touch lives and serve people with compassion, respect, and excellence.
Sincerely,
Scott Milliken, MPA
Chief Executive Officer
